During the production process of IKO asphalt shingles, only the finest materials are being used:
- Fiber inlay: IKO asphalt shingles are made from a glass fiber inlay, which is a waterproof material. Don’t confuse IKO roof shingles with shingles based on organic felt inlay, which absorbs humidity. European quality norms stipulate the use of fiber glass for its high tear resistance and nail tear resistance capabilities.
- Bitumen: During production, this glass fiber is saturated with bitumen. This process offers a very stable material for roof covering.
- Granules: To finish the shingle of it is sprinkled with colored granules.
