Protection against heavy weather

Cambridge shingles are manufactured with high-quality materials that withstand wind-driven rains and typical European weather conditions

Take a look at the following video. Cambridge Xtreme 9.5° shingles have been tested at both standard roof slopes (25°) and low slopes (9.5°), resisting wind speeds of up to 200 km/h without failure.

Glass fiber reinforcement and bitumen saturation

Thanks to more than 70 years of shingle expertise, Cambridge shingles are produced using materials that meet and exceed European roofing standards:

  • Glass fiber inlay: A waterproof material, known for its high tear resistance and nail tear resistance capabilities
  • Bitumen: the glass fiber is saturated with bitumen, resulting in a very stable material for roof covering
  • Colored granules: Fine granules applied to the  shingle surface have a double function. They offer a UV protection of the bitumen substrate and create an appealing look for the shingle.

Cambridge Xpress vs Cambridge Xtreme 9,5°

The primary difference between the shingles is that Cambridge Xtreme 9,5° is engineered for extreme slopes (both very steep and very low as low as 9.5°), whereas Cambridge Xpress is designed for standard, more traditional roof applications. Cambridge Xtreme 9,5° has a self-adhesive surface on the back, while Cambridge Xpress only has self-adhesive dots that are activated by sunlight and heat.
