Organic felt shingles and fiberglass shingles are NOT alike!
Here is why:
Being a strong and durable shingle, Victorian PLUS (with fiberglass inlay!) is resistant to all kind of weather conditions.
A roof shingle with an organic felt inlay (commonly referred to as felt shingles, felt tiles or felt roof tiles and – just to be clear - NOT in IKO Shingles)
on the other side is less waterproof and fireproof,
which can lead to premature and destructive curling and cracking.
Roof shingles with impressive tensile strength
Another argument to choose for Victorian PLUS is its impressive tensile strength. A short example of the test can be found in our film “How do they do it?”. This movie shows the different stages of the production process and also gives a small look at a few important quality checks we do to make sure our IKO shingles deliver the high quality customers expect. One of these tests measures the tensile strength.
La moyenne des valeurs que nous avons enregistrées pour les bardeaux Victorian Plus sont :
1000 N/50 mm pour la résistance à la traction longitudinale (EN 12311-1) et
700 N/50 mm pour la résistance à la traction transversale (EN 12311-1).
Pour les normes EN 544, les valeurs minimales suivantes sont requises : 600 N/50 mm pour la résistance à la traction longitudinale (EN 12311-1) et 400 N/50 mm pour la résistance à la traction transversale.

- la base est une construction en bois ou en béton sous le platelage comprenant une sous-couche IKO étanche.
- Fixez les bardeaux à l'aide de clous IKO.
- Vous aurez besoin de +/- 35 pc/m².
- Les noues, arêtiers et faitières sont faciles à installer sans avoir à acheter de nombreux accessoires.
Prévoyez une bonne isolation et une bonne ventilation afin d'optimiser les performances et la durabilité du toit, ce qui contribuera à réduire les coûts de chauffage et de refroidissement. L'utilisation de solins métalliques est nécessaire pour les débords de toit, rives, murs, cheminées, fenêtres de toit, etc.
Resistance to storm and strong winds (up to 220km/h!)

Roof shingle with unique look and feel
ArmourShield PLUS is a roof shingle with not only nice technical details. The esthetics of the asphalt shingle makes it a great choice too. This roof shingle is available in 7 carefully composed shingle colours. On each ArmourShield PLUS colour (except black) you can also find the unique shadowband, which definitely gives an extra dimension to your safe shingles roof.
Shingles installation on concrete roof
In certain countries (Italy, Spain, Cuba, Romania,..) shingles are also being installed on concrete roof decks. ArmourShield PLUS is an ideal asphalt roof shingle for this application. For a correct roof application, certain guidelines should be followed. It is important that the roof deck is cleaned and dust free. The use of a bitumen primer is recommended. This primer needs to dry before you can proceed with the following step. You cannot install the ArmourShield PLUS roof shingles directly on the concrete deck. An APP based underlay (like Armourgum IKOnic) should first be torched onto the roof. Then you should nail (and not(!) torch) the roof shingles on the “melted” APP membrane. Thanks to the self-adhesive back of the Armourshield PLUS, these roof shingle tiles will perfectly attach to the membrane and you’ll have a roof that will withstand each weather condition!
